In a Northerly shop, the slope of the floor to be from south to north, and from west to east, according to the Vastu rules.
1. The trade should take his seat a little distance away from the northern and western side walls of north- west (vayavya) area. If he sits facing the north, he should keep his cash-box on his right.
2.The cash-box should be so positioned that when it is opened, it is seen by the heavenly eyes of kuber, the lord of wealth.
3.If the trader prefers to use chair and table for office purposes then they should be positioned in south-west (nairitya) area so that when the trade sites on the chair he either has face towards north or east.
4.The table and chair should not be positioned in south-east (aagneya) or north-east (ishan) area. The northern and eastern parts of the shop have to be kept neat and clean for the use of the customers. If there are two shutters in the shop the one in the north-east (ishan) area should be kept in locked position.
In an easternly shop, the slope of the floor have to be from southern side to northern side and from western side to eastern side.
1. The trader should take his seat a little distance away from the eastern and southern walls of south-east (aagneya) area.
2. The almirah and cash box should be on his left side, while he sits with his face towards north. The cash box should be kept in such a position that it opens towards the north attracting the attention of kuber, the lord of wealth.
3. The chairs and tables could be fixed in the south-east (aagneya) corner. The sitting arrangement must not be made in north-east (ishan) or in north-east (vayavya) corner. This, however, can be done in south or west sides.
